Books take approximately four minutes to create, though times vary with story length and demand. Preview the book, then let your child explore. You can leave while it is being made and opt in to an email when it’s ready.
Under six? Choose a read-together profile. An adult chooses what fits the child; this is shared story time, not preschool instruction or an independent reading assessment.

Reading Comfort

Reading Comfort includes optional tools some children with dyslexia or other reading differences may find helpful. Adjust the page to your child's preferences, and change the settings whenever they need something different.
These optional display tools do not diagnose or treat dyslexia. They do not automatically change story difficulty.

For independent readers ages 6–10, age, school grade and reading comfort guide the starting point. Completed books, scored story clues and word-help activity guide future stories. When reading activity shows your child is ready, vocabulary and story complexity gradually increase. Difficulty can also hold steady or ease back for more practice.
Tale Lantern reading bands are instructional estimates based on established readability methods, story-complexity review, and in-app reading activity. They are not standardized or diagnostic assessments.
